i was a recruiter for a while.

That was the standard training. Actually, they were supposed to give you that song and dance before you got the actual offer, to keep you on the hook.

I didnt see anything ‘bad’ about the email. Its probably some straight commission recruiter that just lost a payday.

If they were a strong recruiter they would have met with you to get you to change your mind, not whine about it via email.

The guy was just mad that he didn’t get his bonus. You coming on board ment $$$ in his pocket… and you didn’t give it to him… hes a buster..

i have heard that people who accept counteroffers tend to leave their jobs w/in a set period of time (i’m not saying that you will . . .), but what that recruiter wrote is totally unprofessional. it just makes him and his company come off as whiny and immature.

just because you are offered a job does not mean that you have to accept it. people turn down job offers every day because not every job offer fits the needs of the employee. i know this . . . i work in HR. i sit next to a recruiter. i hear her go back and forth with candidates every day.

Don’t know. Nobody ever told me that accepting the better offer on the table was career suicide. Oh well, I suppose I’ll have to live with the better job.
