Never Leave Home Without Your Beard.
So, recently a Ron Paul Supporter–Josh, who has in the past vehemently supported the acts of the KKK and has tried so ferociously to shut up my criticism of Ron Paul through personal attack and abuse–posted an article featuring yours truly! Flattering, no?
Well, he actually found a picture of me (I’m guessing from MySpace, way to figure out how to use the interweb Josh, I bet your mommy is super-proud) at a concert that I attended in 2005 with my lovely wife. He cut out some of the most interesting parts of the photo, like Josh Brown who is the lead singer and song writer for Day of Fire. I don’t know who the guy on the right is–though I like his shirt–but the one on the left is definitely me.
I think I look pretty good after rocking out pretty hard with my wife for about 6 hours in 105′F heat on a Saturday afternoon. As you can tell I’m also considerably razor-burnt, those of you who know me know that I usually sport a beard, and I’ve got a touch of the heat exhaustion. I still think I look pretty damned good after all of that. I’d like to see Josh rock out with his wife for 6 hours in that heat… oh… I’m sorry… Josh isn’t married, my mistake.
So, as you can obviously see from the blog post that he did of me, he’s trying to smear me, and he seems to have some sort of misconception that calling me a “fatboy” is going to offend me or make me in some way defensive. Well, I’m not really offended, I’m just tickled that Josh did such a fantastic job of proving my point in my previous post: Ron Paul supporters don’t care about the issues, they just want you to shut up and accept their propaganda.
You’ll notice that at no point in his “article” did he cite any specific criticism that he has of me, nor does he explain any reason why I’m wrong. He merely posts the photo in a failed attempt to embarrass me and shut me up. Not gonna happen.
Those of you who know me know that I actually describe myself as a “fat, bearded geek.” Am I proud of my obesity? Not really, but I have the testicular fortitude to be okay with myself even with my problems, and I did well enough to find myself a fantastic wife and now we’ve got a son on the way. I’m rather content with my life. I’m not very content with Ron Paul’s supporters however.
This sort of attacking is actually quite common though. You don’t have to Google very long to find more of this sort of behavior (google: “ron paul” +basher), it is pretty much everywhere. These people are going around calling people who they disagree with “liars” and accusing them of all sorts of stuff. Everything except for addressing it as if it were possibly a reasonable conclusion that they came to after looking over what’s out there. Although I suppose that in the cult of Ron Paul they don’t really let you think that anybody would possibly disagree with Ron Paul if they’re reasonable. I don’t think rationality or critical thinking is anywhere near the top priority of this campaign.
So Josh, if you’re reading this, thanks for thinking of me. I really appreciate how you helped me make my point. As for photos of your dear manchicken, try this one. And folks, remember to never leave home without your beard, or some asshole with a blog later on down the line will try to use the photos to try to embarrass you.

I’m going to please ask you to stop stereotyping me thank you. If you want to complane about the crazy Ron Paul supporters, that’s fine. Please don’t group me in with them. Just because I support him doesn’t mean that I ask you to shut up and accept anything.
Adam, I apologize for lumping you in with the other guys, but the ones that are making themselves known are really marginalizing any intelligent support that is on Ron Paul’s side. I apologize if you feel marginalized by this, and even more so if you feel marginalized by my writing.
I am baffled how any rational person could possibly support this candidate but that’s your thing. I know you’re not like many of the other Paul supporters, but it is my sincere opinion that Ron Paul is the candidate of hate, pollution, poverty, and a receding status quo.
Manchicken,
I am upset. You got mad at Josh for cutting out a person in the picture, but then you cut out RMS!!
Jordan: Yeah, sorry, I didn’t want to cause the same confusion that Josh did with multiple people in the photo. There were actually four folks in that image, and if you’d like to see the whole image, it’s here.
But there’s no denying that I’m dead sexy in that photo. No lady can resist a red-bearded manchicken.
Did Josh at least post the sources of those images? If not, he could be violating your copyleft love :p
Long live fair use!
Ron Paul supporters need to shut up and accept the fact that he is an evil bastard.
Oh my, how the tides have turned.
