Ron Paul and his Fascist Gang of Idiots…

Howdy. Isn’t it funny that people who can’t disagree appropriately always like to talk amongst themselves about how stupid the people they disagree with are? Well let’s practice a little bit of that here and now shall we?

I found that a very high volume of people who commented yesterday were coming from coordinated emails that were sent around. How can I tell? Well, because my logs are littered with gmail and yahoo mail and hotmail referrers, that’s how. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on.

And here’s a forum where they got all weepy and cried about how I was criticizing their god, Ron Paul: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=10194

These idiots don’t like me calling their beloved Ron Paul a racist. They probably won’t like me calling them idiots either, but that’s okay. They don’t like the truth, and it certainly shows.

Ron Paul is opposed to our constitution, particularly the 14th amendment, and his right-wing nuttery will see to it that nobody but rich white businessmen have any freedom in this world, okay that may go a bit far. I think he likes rich white women, too.

According to his own statements (quoted here), Ron Paul does not believe that the federal government should:

  1. Help the poor
  2. Help people who have survived disasters
  3. Help people who cannot afford healthcare
  4. Help senior citizens
  5. Help veterans

But he does believe that we should send troops to the borders to enforce his twisted–and yes, racist–anti-Mexican policies. Why do I call it racist? Well I’m glad you asked! According to the same article posted above, Ron Paul believes that immigrants (note that he did not specify legal or illegal) can:

  1. Be diseased and carry those diseases in to infect our population
  2. Cause huge crime problems
  3. Damage American culture (this is the one I find most racist, by the way)

Ron Paul and his supporters, prooven by their actions on my very blog yesterday, are dangerous to America and it is my opinion that the FBI should add them to the terrorist watch list immediately before they begin to use terrorism to force their sick world-view on the rest of us.

    Not just the racist ones which I think they’ll come back with arguments for first.

    I didn’t think anyone could be as bad as Romney and Rudy, but damn, Ron is now on par in my mind. I guess if any of the Psycho R’s wins the election I’ll be looking for a new place to live.

    I can’t tell if you’re trolling for traffic (which I suspect) or looking for an honest debate (doubtful, you’ve had a couple from Ron Paul supporters here and don’t seem to enjoy it).

    But if you want to know more about Ron Paul, maybe you should Google or Youtube him for an hour and find out the answers to your questions. Just watch his recent talk at Google, which was extremely well-recieved by Google’s young, ethnically-diverse staff.

    Or maybe you don’t want to know more.

    I doubt Ron Paul supporters will give this the time of the day anymore.
    People would do themselves a favor by becoming educated and get over the school yard bully name calling. You have to read more than 3 words in a sentence to understand Dr. Pauls positions and to put them in two or three words is lazy and childish.

    – This depends on what you mean by “help”. The federal government should help veterans as much as their enlistment contract says they should. Just like my employer should help me just as much as my employment contract says they should.

    I disagree with Paul on immigration. I think if we eliminate the incentives to come to America and freeload then we’ll be getting immigrants who want to contribute to our economy, and that’s not a problem at all. And no, I don’t want troops on the border, unless they’re necessary for defense from an invading army.

    I hope to be able to vote for Ron Paul for President. I don’t agree with all his views, but I think he’s the best candidate that I know of. (With the possible exception of Doug Stanhope. Or Zombie Reagan.)

    About the constitution, I hope that the difference between most politicians and Ron Paul would be that while he may oppose parts of the constitution, he would still follow them while he lobbies for their change.

    The 14th amendment has been interpreted to mean that anyone born in the US, without regard to the parents citizenship, is automatically a citizen. This means that an “ILLEGAL” immigrant can give birth while in this country “ILLEGALLY” and that child is automatically a citizen of the US. These children are referred to as “anchor babies”.

    Ron Paul has proposed changing the 14th Amendment to exclude these anchor babies. I agree with his position because it removes another incentive for ILLEGALLY entering this country.

    By the way, are you in favor of letting people enter this country if they are carriers of an epidemic?

    Please give a little more careful thought and research into others opinions.

    Dano, the pertinent text of the 14th amendment is:

    Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

    So the question is “are illegal immigrants subject to the jurisdiction of the United States?” I think the name itself answers the question. How can someone be doing something illegal unless they’re subject to the jurisdiction of the state in which their actions are illegal? Now, if they were non-citizen aliens or something like that there might be a case to argue, but they’re illegal immigrants. Sounds pretty simple to me.

    Ron Paul is only opposed to the naturalization provision in the 14th amendment. Should somebody be allowed to be an American citizen simply because their parents gave birth to them within our country?

    As far as helping the poor, Paul claims that a free market would be the best way to assist people that are struggling to get by. Now this requires some clarification because Paul’s idea for a free market is an economic system that does not suffer from the kind of inflation that we have seen over the past century under the Federal Reserve system. Inflation is not technically a tax but it does result in the devaluation of the dollar, this hurts people of the lower and middle class the most. Even if you have your money in a savings account you are lucky if you are gaining enough interest to compete with the kind of inflation going on in the money supply.

    As far as helping people survive disasters, lets just take a look at how badly FEMA royally f-d up in their handling of Katrina (and continues to mess up.) I personally am not opposed to the federal government assisting these people, but I do have some contention with the feds taking over the authority to be in charge of the clean up. The local and state jurisdictions should know how to help their people best.. federal volunteers should be receptive and supportive to the locals’ concerns. In Katrina you have martial law declared and complete federal control.. volunteers who wanted to assist were turned down, meanwhile many people in New Orleans were dying for their aid. This is just unacceptable and a new kind of solution needs to be considered. I don’t know if Ron Paul is on the right track here but he does have a point.

    On Medicare, I would also agree that socialized medicine is not the answer. The more we put our tax money into creating these massive federal programs, the more inefficient they tend to become.

    With social security you have the same problem, the government is controlling your investment. Who even knows if half the money is even there considering they are always appropriating the money for something else. The Social Security liability to the American people down the road is a huge problem and as the boomers hit retirement age, who knows if we’ll even be able to afford them. Meanwhile I’m being asked to pay a good percentage of my wages out to this system we can’t afford.

    The quotes that are obviously racist have been addressed as not Ron Paul’s own words, but somebody who was published in a newsletter under Paul’s name. I was pretty shocked to see them at first and I admit that it does make me skeptical about Paul, but I give him the benefit of the doubt considering that out of all of the other publications and videos I have seen of Paul, the racist remarks seem completely out of his character.

    I must also say that the way in which some of these issues are brought up are unfair and propagandistic. Ron Paul doesn’t say that we shouldn’t simply not “Help people who cannot afford healthcare” but instead goes onto say that ““I am opposed to any form of government health insurance as I am opposed to the taxes, regulations, licensing requirements, and monopolistic practices, which keep health costs higher than their true market value.”” .. i.e. he is in favor of people having affordable health care and his feeling is that the system as it is is inflating the value of health care artificially.

    This is a similar tactic as saying “Support the Troops”.. and insinuating that one should politically support the war that the “Troops” are fighting.

    As far as the border concern goes.. wasn’t our government telling us that our porous borders of Mexico were allowing all kinds of terrorists to come into the United States unchecked. I believe that Congress passed a law on this issue in 2002 or 2003, but did little to fund it. Now they are saying that Al-Queda is paying for people to take them across the Rio Grande, but they are refusing to secure the border unless the immigration reform bill gets past simultaneously. Meanwhile we have had a huge influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico over the past 5 years, with no end in sight.

    I dunno that’s all I got for now. I think you should read into more of where Paul stands beyond these quotes.. his platform is not easily swallowed because he actually will discuss the issue beyond the slogans of “Help the poor” etc.. You want to help the poor? You stop inflating the currency. You stop the corruption that allows for the raping of the housing market, you stop the corruption that allows for Enron to rob you of your savings, you stop running up a deficit at billions of dollars a day, you protect the workers of your country and don’t sell out to trade arrangements that supercede your countries’ own rights to manage trade.. it goes on.

We even fought a war over this. My own memory about this is fuzzy, but I remember an Aberham Lincoln fixing the situation. Ron Paul, dano, is NOT Aberham Lincoln.

    Yes, anchor babies exist. Yes, it is a loophole. No, you cannot change this. Why? Logistically speaking, the act of modifying the Constitution is so taxing that is itself prohibitive. You honestly think that Ron Paul, by himself, will change the Constitution. Anyone who thinks that is an IDIOT. A dangerous person who should be kept out of power, because they are an idiot and don’t respect the fabric of our country.

    Do you seriously want to stop people coming into the nation illegally? Stop letting the United States create abhorrent conditions for people in other nations, all in the pursuit of American hegemony in general, and a dollar in particular. However, RPaul won’t do that. He won’t address those issues. He’ll just close the law and put people on the border. Brute force attacks is not what I want for a president, neither do I want one who thinks the Constitution is just a piece of paper that he can edit at his own will.

    I would love to see the exact text Ron Paul has drafted up however. Please copy and paste it into the page. But I doubt you’ll let me see it, because the change wont come. The cure is worse than the disease and to allow the conditions necessary for that cure is sheer folly.

    It should be noted that I don’t have a giant problem with this illegal immigration. I know why the people come here, I know the people coming here, and I find it disgusting that anyone would try to hide from the end product of American policy.

    One more thought Dano: Do you actually know Mike? Have you been thorough his blog? I have. I’ve been to his home, played with his dog and talked to him about politics many times. He thinks his positions through, before putting them onto the internet. He cites names and locations, quotes and interprets. Sometimes he says things I disagree with, for his tone of voice, or ideas. However, I have never been turned away by his rhetoric and arguments, the way I’ve been by Ron Paul and his supporters.

    First, the Victoria quotes were not him, he apologized for them and took responsibility and fired the staffer that wrote them.
    Second, Ron Paul doesnt believe in the concept of hate crimes, its just another motivation for an act of aggression
    third, your going to have to look more indepth because that would take a long time to explain

    The reason you’re not getting a response re the racist quotations is because that question is easily answerable on Google.

    I’ll humor you, though I suspect the question is being asked in bad faith: the quotes were ghostwritten by a staffer in the early 1990s. Paul did not vet them and the staffer was immediately fired. There is nothing else in Ron Paul’s history that is remotely similar in tone or content.

    Again, I’m pretty sure I just answered a bad faith question.

    The Burnt Orange Report referred to Ron Paul as a “19th century man.” Need I remind Chickenman and the rest of the “progressives” at this site, that their opinions are from the 19th century as well. Marxism is obviously your choice of political and social philosophy.
    Personal responsibility is still prevalent amongst most Americans and is a value we raise our children with. I realize that such a concept is difficult to comprehend by people with socialist values, but the rest of us prefer to live our lives free from tyranny of Marxism. I also realize that many of you have been indoctrinated by hack professors such as Ward Churchill, from University of Colorado at Boulder and George Lakoff, linguistics professor at Berkeley. These people are only interested in advancing their “progressive,” (read: socialist) agendas and screaming about the inequalities of their own country; a country which gives them the freedom of speech to do so.
    Try bashing Cuba or North Korea as a citizen of those countries. Not only would you not have the freedom of speech to do so, you would be kept as a political prisioner for an indefinite period of time, sent to a re-education camp or lie in a mass grave with a bullet in your head. You of course would be with good company! Over one hundred million people from the 20th century perished from such tyrany for the same reasons. But of course, we wouldn’t want to elect a freedom fighter and proponet of responsibility such as Ron Paul.     I can respond for that purpose. I can resist replying to comments on my own blog. I’ve been doing it all day. It’s been interesting to see that I was completely right about the bullying tactics of Ron Paul’s supporters.

    You all call yourself political activists, and yet always assume that your adversary is always ignorant or somehow missing something. Most of the Google searching would show that I’m spot on in this post.

    Ron Paul is for removing birthright citizenship–as per his website–and he is for backing out of the international trade treaties and the U.N.. He has also said–as in words coming out of his mouth–that he does not believe it is a good idea for the government to help people in a disaster such as hurricane Katrina (and yes, that was even the context of the quote).

    It’s not that I’ve missed anything here. It’s that I think Ron Paul is WRONG. I think he’s wrong to suggest that the government should not do what it can to take care of its population. I think he’s wrong to want to bastardize our constitution to suit his racist desire to rid America of immigrants, and I think he’s wrong to want to isolate the United States from the rest of the developed world by backing out of the trade agreements.

    I also think that you all–his supporters–are wrong for attempting to bully me into shutting up. You claim to support a libertarian candidate that supports freedom, yet for the past two days you all–once again, his supporters–have done nothing but try to pressure me into agreeing or shutting up. You’ve childishly blasted my automated digg posts by burying them with comments such as “burying for BULLSHIT” and “this guy obviously doesn’t understand,” and let’s not forget the accusations of Marxism I got today.

    Yeah, you Ron Paul supporters are a real class act. Unfortunately you’re not going to get me to shut up. I’ll blog about whatever the hell I want to blog about whenever the hell I want to do so, and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it.

    As for those accusing me of trolling for traffic, as you’ll notice, there are no ads here other than the two FSF banners which aren’t really ads so much as graphical links. I don’t make any money from this site, and I don’t really get any real jollies from stirring up the idiot brigade. I only wanted to post my opinion on my blog, and you asshats kinda showed up out of nowhere to cause trouble.

    I’ll put it plainly. Ron Paul and all of his supporters are in my genuine and sincere opinion a very unfortunately misguided group of individuals.

    And finally, kungfooguru isn’t anything like me on most issues. He only agrees with me in that Ron Paul is one of the most dangerous candidates out there, and that sausage pizza rules your collective mothers.

    Wrong. Paul was recently asked about his working relationship with Dennis Kucinich. Just as he did in his appearance at Google (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCM_wQy4YVg), in his response Paul makes clear that he doesn’t want to gut exisiting social programs that people have become dependent on. In fact, at Google he accuses Republicans of trying to “nickel and dime” social programs, while ignoring the fact that the vast majority of our tax dollars do not go to helping the poor, but to military spending. According to Paul, military spending could be cut to 1/3 of what it is today — saving more than enough money to pay existing entitlements.

    As for veterans issues, I’m assuming you just threw that in there because it’s something a “bad” guy like Paul would oppose. Again, not true. For years Paul spoke out against cuts in spending for veterans care, as he did here (http://www.antiwar.com/paul/?articleid=5451):
    Many military veterans were shocked to see that the federal budget for 2006 makes several cuts in veterans benefits and services.     1. Help the poor

    The government has poured Billions into the War on Poverty. Did it help? No. Welfare is an addiction. Once on welfare it becomes a permanent entitlement. Government cannot solve this problem.     2. Help people who have survived disasters.

    Yeah! FEMA did a bang up job with Katrina. Government cannot solve these problems. If this is important to you then then open your home to a disaster victim and get your freaking hands off MY wallet.

    3. Help people who cannot afford healthcare.

    I personally cannot afford healthcare and must pay for my medical expenses out of my own pocket. However, I am FORCED to pay for the healthcare of all the Mexican illegals and welfare cheats. Government cannot solve this problem. If this is important to you then make a donation to a charity hospital and get your freaking hands off MY wallet.

    4. Help senior citizens

    Senior citizens get plenty of help. Statistics show they control most of the nations assets and still get social security, medic aid, prescription drugs and much much more. I get NONE of this benefits and never will, but I am FORCED to pay it for others. Government cannot solve this problem. If this is important to you then adopt an old geezer and get your freaking hands off MY wallet.

    5. Help veterans.

    The military is an all volunteer organization. If they want to join so they can go to foreign countries to kill innocent men, women and children for a lie, so be it. If they get their ass blown off, that was their choice. The government helps veterans plenty (they have to, it’s part of the contract they sign.) If this is important to you then donate 10% of your pay to a VA hospital and get your freaking hands off MY wallet.

    Ending. Virtually everything the government touches turns to instant crap. The public is always served best by the private sector. And in case you didn’t hear me the first time… Government cannot solve any problem. Period. If ANY problem important to you then help by donating your own money, getting off your rosey backside to do something except spout your marxist crap… and get your freaking hands off MY wallet!!!!

My own comments have been dismissed and ignored in general, despite the large amount of information and questions I’ve put up. Those of you out here who support Ron Paul haven’t dismissed a single word or ignored any small comment, choosing to use those as a reason to call everyone a marxist or illegal, which I found strange.

    I didn’t read much of the thread, and I don’t know anything about Ron Paul. But this comments deserves an answer.

    Desert Rat is obviously lacking the benefit of the education provided to him free by the State. Because if DR had benefited at all, DR would have intuited that it work by illegal immigrants and foreigners for miniscule returns that make possible most of DR’s own luxuries — which allows things like hospitals to exist alongside things like golf courses.

    Take away the people who are willing to work their arses off in your fields picking fruit for virtually nothing, take away the toilet cleaners, and let’s just say DR and ilk would have nothing to wipe their arses with.

    Either that, or they would be forced to ocaisionally leave the safe confines of the SUV, wander off the golf course, and fucking do something to feed themselves. Let alone figuring out how a danged stethoscope works.

One, is is to show respect or concern for. Another is to take into account; consider. These are two definitions given by dictionary.com. While it might come as a surprise to you, many of us were brought up to respect people; even folks we don’t agree with. I get the strong impression that you are young and wouldn’t know anything about this. I can make a good argument for this by your lack of respect for others. Also, Toothrot, before you critize others for their grammar, I would take a good look at your own posts. In addition to taking a a course in basic economics and reading our constitution as mentioned before, I suggest taking a remedial grammar class. Your posts are full of grammatical errors. Take observance in your own puncuation, spelling and syntax, before judging others.

    Desert Rat, my intent was not to be a hero to anyone. Again, as mentioned to Toothrat, I was raised to show respect to all people. To further outline my past, I should make clear that when I was a young boy, my idols were Willy Mays, Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal, Willy McCovey, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlin, Hank Aaron, Felipe Alou; all distinguished athletes and as fine of role models a young boy could ever hope of having. Of course, each and every one of these great people were and are of black and hispanic origin. That of course is only one group; an assembly of athletes. As a musician, the list of my faves is endless. Freddie King, Howlin Wolf, (aka Chester Burnett) Muddy Waters, (aka McKinley Morganfield) Robert Johnson, B.B King…

    When I moved to Berkeley in the 70’s, it was not to align myself with radical leftists, but to play the blues with veteran blues musicians in the bay area. The majority of these musicians were older black men and women from various bay area cities. These beautiful men and women served as my mentors. None of them were interested in my politics or physical features. After trying out in many rock bands amd never making the cut, I realized that the way to express my music was through my earlier roots, the blues. What I was faced with, was a mob of political liberals who didn’t want me to play in their bands based on the way I looked and my value system. Trust me, rock bands do extensive interviewing for prospective band members. Most questions have little or nothing to do with music, ( at least during the 70’s). At the time, I had a well muscled body, blond hair, blue eyes and looked as though I was raised on a midwestern farm; a kid who had bucked hay his whole life. Nevermind the fact that I could play circles around these “liberal” posers who looked liked androgenous heroin addicts, none of these leftist musicians (and I use the term musician lightly) were able to see past my political alignment and apperance. The people who supported my music, were not only of different color, but of a different generation; people who had the wisdom to see past triviality and look at a person based on his or her personal merit; not as a group.

    The point of my historical background is, that if I thought any political candidate were a racist, I would most certainly be the last to ever support him or her. Racism is not part of my modus operandi and I feel HIGHLY offended by your assertion that Ron Paul and his supporters are fascists, racists and idiots! Being a Ron Paul adherent, I take your comments personally!

    It is people like Desert Rat’s wife who make up the mix of “cultural diversity” in America. People who have vision! People who come to America because it is THE country where people can improve their lives! A country where they can express themselves without tyranny! A country which gives us rights never seen before! People like Desert Rat’s wife come here LEGALLY. There is a distinct difference between the two and I can only hope that you gain the wisdom to see the difference.

    Of course, this thread is not about me, Desert Rat or his wife. It is about the man who I and many others feel is anti-racist, pro-responsibility, pro-family and most importantly, pro constitutio; Ron Paul.

    So I’ve stayed away from this for a while and here is my response to the original post. Ron Paul is ignorant. Yes, yes bash away but here is some proof: he believes immigrants will “Be diseased and carry those diseases in to infect our population. Cause huge crime problems. Damage American culture (this is the one I find most racist, by the way)” ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?? Anyone that has ever studied the history of immigration knows that THIS IS THE SAME ARGUMENT AGAINST IMMIGRATION FOR A DIFFERENT GROUPS. People have made this argument again the Irish, Chinese, Polish. The only thing different is the group and because Ron Paul doesn’t understand history, he makes the same ignorant argument people have been making for hundreds of years. Disagree with me? Fine, I can accept that so I challenge you to do one thing for me: define “American culture” and tell me exactly what will be destroyed. This country is literally ALL immigrants (just go ask your parents, grandparents, great-granparents, eventually you’ll find an immigrant).

    I kept it short and each point could be a debate in itself, but for starters you wrote:

    1. Help the poor.

    Right now the government not only doesn’t help the poor, it continues to increase their ranks by giving the impression that they can be helped by the government thereby enticing many to a handout cultural motif.

    2. Help people who have survived disasters.

    We only need look to Katrina victims and the like to see that we not only didn’t help them, we just diverted money to some mobile home company while people floated in their attics. By providing government insurance, we allow people to move into geographical regions not suitable for long-term stability.

    3. Help people who cannot afford healthcare.

    I do not have health care and will not see any until the price drops low enough for a policy I can afford.

    4. Help senior citizens.

    A compassionate family will see to the health care of their parents. Those that risk old-age without familial ties will always be at a far greater risk than those who raised a solid family. In the darwinian world, lifestyles dictate long term survival. If an individual does not reproduce and nurture to successful adulthood their offspring, that genetic line risks termination.

    5. Help veterans.

    The best way to help veterens is to STOP CREATING THEM.

    Jay, I couldn’t agree more, the best way to help them is to STOP CREATING THEM. The best way to help poor people is to stop creating them! (That’s why I advocate abortion for those who can’t afford a child!)

    But I can still see an argument for existing veterans, poor people, and victims of the system.

    I think this generation of mexicans are pretty brazen to tell an entire nation they dont deserve a country. To me that an act of war, and our borders should be secured.

You twist his words completely qround for your own sick agenda. Helping the poor is by doing things to help themselves. I could go on, but if you dont get the point from that sentence, you wont get anything there is to say because you have so much wax the government has put in your ears so that you could be their puppet.

People coming into the US and having jobs and feeding their families is no threat, so there’s no just cause to “defend” against it. Ron Paul’s racist ties and personal racism are well-known, and I’m certainly not the only one reporting on it. If you’d pull your head out of the sand you’d see that.

    stephen: Yes, actually, I have seen all these things. As a youth minister on the south side of Chicago I saw a great many things… most of them good. The city is doing a lot to help the poor in that area: they have food banks, WIC–a program that provides mothers and their infants with food and healthcare–they have education, they have Link which is a debit-card type program to help lower-income families get food. I’ve seen a great many situations where the government does help the poor, and just because you’re holding yourself back by being too scared and ignorant doesn’t mean it’s not going on. You seem to think you know what goes on in the inner-city, but you don’t. I’ve been in the middle of it, and I’ve worked with the young people to whom it is a daily fact of life. You should really be more careful who you accuse of being ignorant, “sir”.

    Ok, for one.. give me ANY proof of that claim.

    For two, as long as their is a profit motive private enterprises will cater to where the most money is to be had, the rich.

    For three, government intervention is the only thing standing between humanity and the dollar. When money becomes more important than someones life I believe we have gone wrong as a society, no matter the color of their skin or their social status.. A healthy, well educated work force is proven to more effective.
