Ron Paul Campaign, the Leaders in Contribution Waste Innovation!
So, I’ve just been made aware of the “Ron Paul Blimp” project. This is exactly what it sounds like. They’re trying to obtain a blimp and use it to advertise for Ron Paul’s presidential campaign. I don’t know about you all, but if I were a Ron Paul campaign contributor I would be livid. This is just one more example of how this Ron Paul campaign is more of a circus of zealots than a legitimate presidential campaign. First it was going and trashing everybody’s blogs with their hate-speech and condescension, now it’s putting together half a million dollars to advertise with a blimp.
According to a post on “The Sons of Liberty” blog, the Ron Paul Blimp project is having some very serious trouble securing promised funds. It would seem that their shady so-called grass-roots supporters are showing their true colors a bit more now that the rubber is about to hit the road. They’re more interested in spamming blogs and causing trouble than they are with actually funding their candidate or promoting him in any sort of positive manner. No, it’s not good enough to tell people why your candidate is the best person for the job, now we’ve gotta go on Google and spam all the folks who say anything negative about the guy all the while wasting a crap-load of money on a pointless ad on the side of a blimp. That’s what I call innovation.

The blimp project is not an official action of the campaign - it’s a 100% voluntary grassroots project, being 100% financially supported by the grassroots supporters. Absolutely no donations made to the official campaign are being used.
Clearly the blimp is a better idea that you suggest - we got you to write about it, didn’t we? Can you say ‘viral marketing’?
No, but I can say cultist campaigners. Also, even if the blimp isn’t using official campaign money–which I’ve seen nothing to indicate that it isn’t–it’s still taking donations that, if I were a Paul supporter, I would think should go to the campaign instead.
Perhaps I should be happy to see this. That’s half a million dollars that you all will waste on one single geographic location. Maybe that’ll mean that I won’t have to deal with Ron Paul idiots in central Illinois. Probably not though. Idiots are everywhere.
Your funny. What exactly are you for? More goverment? You like policing the world? What is so crackpot about wanting to reign the gov in. We all know RP can’t just abolish the IRS, but he woukd like to. I would like to find a way to do that too. If your for more of the same, your the loony idiot who is wasting your vote. It is the direction stupid. More of the same and going bankrupt, or reigning our out of control government? Are you crazy?
Talk about filling the blogs with hate messages. If Ron Paul supporters are so bad, why do you imitate our tactics of “hate-speech and condescension”. You seem pretty full of hate yourself. Just sayin.
Chris, I’m sorry, but I didn’t say any of that. If we had a candidate who could do all of those things without damaging our country, our economy, our society, our environment, and our world, I’d support them in a heart-beat. Ron Paul, however, will destroy each and every one of these things. I’m not crazy, you’re merely drinking too much kool-aid.
ry: I’m sorry, but where’s my hatespeech? Where have I tried to justify the Klan or bigotry? Ron Paul supporters have done this on my very blog. There’s no hate in me, I’m just doing my best to expose Ron Paul and his supporters for what they are: dangerous to the balance and stability of the US and the world, and a bigot who is trying to remove voter rights protections and birthright citizenship.
Manchicken, I used to think you liked me
Now I know you hate me because of my political viewpoints. Why do you make me feel so bad?
Adam: Here, have a tissue.

The only positive thing I’ve seen (well, heard) about the Ron Paul campaign was an interview by Stephanie Miller, daughter of the late William Miller of Goldwater/Miller ‘64 (as opposed to Goldwater/Miller ‘08: http://goldwatermiller08.com/). It wasn’t nearly enough for me to throw over Dennis Kucinich. For that matter, with my slogan “even a bad Democrat is better than a ‘good’ Republican or bin Laden,” it wasn’t even enough to throw over Hillary Clinton, God forbid a repeat of the conservative Republicrat phenomenon!
