John McCain: Destroyer of America

So the DNC hasn’t been over for more than 24 hours, and it’s interesting to see how John McCain has acted over the last few hours.  First, his VP pick is gimmicky, and she is doing a bang-up job of trying to paint herself as an analog to Hillary Clinton–even though she and Hillary disagree on almost every single possible issue–and if I were Hillary I’d be awful pissed about that.  This inexperienced small-town mayor turned inexperienced–and her legislature has said on camera that she’s obviously inexperienced–governor wants to come in and try to leech Hillary Clinton’s popularity and reputation.  The GOP has thusly redefined arrogance.

I think the only issue that the GOP and I share is the pro-life stance… but I will happily put that issue aside in order to find a candidate that will solve more than just one issue.  I think so many who vote Republican choose the GOP ticket because of this pro-life issue.

Here’s a list of where the GOP is fundamentally wrong, and will destroy the United States:

  1. Offshore and Alaskan reserve drilling.  Oil prices are no substitute for pissing on natural bodies of water or wildlife reserves.  Putting more oil into the system will worsen global warming.  We must phase out oil, so this is the wrong solution.
  2. Gay marriage.  I’m not gay, I am in a traditional marriage with my lovely wife, and out of that I think that it is unethical and ungodly for the government to be legislating matters of Christian doctrine.  As a strong believer I think it is our duty to protect freedom of personal choices so that people may freely choose or deny God and his statutes.  The GOP wishes to usurp God Himself by attempting to use the United States government to legislate God’s law.  That’s God’s law, let’s let God enforce it in His time.
  3. In direct opposition to the Christian beliefs that the GOP claims to have a monopoly on, the GOP fails miserably to help the poor with education and jobs, help the sick with healthcare, and help those in prison by encouraging education programs.
  4. The GOP also has a half-assed approach towards their pro-life position.  Not only are they trying to demonize women in extremely difficult situations who think abortion is the right way to go, but they want to block any increase in sex education or sexual responsibility education.  It’s not enough to say “no” to abortion, one must also try to prevent the situations that lead to abortion as well.

I do not believe that the GOP, or most Christian-conservative Republicans, would elect Jesus Christ as President of the United States.  The GOP seems more interested in cramming the “Christian” rules down the throat of the American public and failing miserably to meet Christ’s call to love our neighbors.

John McCain will destroy the United States of America by continuing the tired, failed policies of the Bush Administration, he will deny millions of Americans the fundamental right to healthcare.  John McCain would rather give insurance companies a tax break than give Americans the right to not be discriminated against when it comes to health care.

Republicans are poorly served, and I do not think that the way that the GOP and John McCain are running this campaign have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning… and with John McCain’s health being where it is, I don’t want this inexperienced brat–yes, I called her a brat, you try to assume the popular position of another person with whom you disagree with strongly, you are a brat–to end up taking over as President when John McCain inevitably kicks the bucket.  The guy’s knocking on death’s front door, this just plain stupid VP choice is… well, stupid.

And to John McCain and his economic advisors who want to call the middle class having a hard time with the economy “whiners,” you can eat my ass.

The GOP claims to have a monopoly on Christian beliefs?

No one’s trying to demonize women.

Neither side wants an increase in abortions.

    > brat–yes, I called her a brat

This is your blog, and your country’s constitution promises you freedom of speech. But when you claim to be a Christian and a believer, you are called to a higher standard. Please don’t call Sarah Palin a brat. You are above that.

    > you can eat my ass.

I’m sorry, but it is my honest opinion that Sarah Palin is a brat, and as a believer who is tired of having people like Sarah Palin marginalize the whole of Christendom by trying to push their beliefs on those who don’t want it.
